A confident new look for Pasture

Pasture, a Steak House & late night bar situated in a converted Victorian warehouse in Redcliffe, Bristol. Opening in March 2018, Pasture, created by Head Chef Sam Elliott who has spent over 10 years working around the UK as chef-director for Jamie Oliver has quickly risen to popularity and is already widely regarded as one of the finest restaurants in the city.

Distilling the message

The user journey was carefully considered from the offset - it was critical that we created a seamless user experience, ensuring that each customer clearly understood what makes Pasture special; locally sourced, first-rate food, a comprehensive drinks list including bottles from local breweries & distilleries, a variety of events, and an exciting atmosphere. These factors have all been incorporated into simple and intuitive website navigation from the beginning through the end of the user journey.

Space to breathe

Pasture describe themselves as fine dining for everyone, with slick, engaging service, top-quality food and a team whose knowledge is as strong as it’s passion. It was important that the brand & website portrayed this message. Negative space was used across the site to balance design elements, to let the superb photography and videography breathe and to prompt users to calmy explore. We selected Playfair Display, a font inspired by victorian era calligraphy and used sparingly a cappuccino brown & Jet black colour palette.

“It should be six stars, but I can only give five.”

In it’s short life Pasture has quickly climbed the ranks on Trip Advisor and have received outstanding reviews from well-esteemed food critics - and have built a dedicated following on social media. We wanted to ensure this ‘social-proofing’ was a prominent theme across the website and did so by including easily-editable review areas and a live instagram feed.

Removing Friction

The process the Pasture team had in place for voucher sales was tenuous and often caused both the staff & customer to spend unnecessary time on the telephone to complete an order. Working with the Pasture team we created a seamless process for purchasing vouchers via the website, saving time, eliminating stress and increasing vouchers sales.

“Jusu have taken all of the information and suggestions and ran with great initiative to create everything that I asked for and more! Most importantly, the website is super easy for the team to update and maintain and has some incredible features”.
